Forza Horizon 6 is set to release on May 19th, bringing a massive Japan map, car meets, and an impressive 550 vehicles. The gameplay footage, released ahead of the May 19th release on Xbox consoles and Windows PCs, and the year-end release on PlayStation 5, reveals an open-world experience with a focus on progression. Players will start as tourists, unlocking the Horizon Festival through qualifier events and wristbands, allowing access to new races and faster cars. The game's map is the largest ever created for an open-world Forza game, following the success of previous installments in Mexico, the UK, and Australia. The developers have paid attention to detail, from the leaves on cherry blossom trees that fall onto the road as cars pass under them to the cosmetic tyre wear that builds up over time. Car meets will now feature in the open world, allowing players to showcase their customized vehicles. The game will also include eight in-game houses, garages, and The Estate, a customizable plot of land where players can build anything they desire. Forza Horizon 6 promises a diverse range of vehicles, with over 550 cars available at launch, and the addition of new features such as drift-focused Touge Battles on mountain roads.
