A new sporty iteration of the Zeekr 8X has been unveiled, showcasing a striking all-black exterior design. This exciting update comes from the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and features enhancements such as an electric rear spoiler and carbon fiber elements, all built on the innovative SEA-S hybrid platform. The official debut of this model is slated for the first half of 2026, and it is currently undergoing extensive pre-production testing to fine-tune its performance.
While the Zeekr 8X retains much of the original model's aesthetic, it boasts several sporty upgrades including eye-catching red brake calipers and the aforementioned electric rear spoiler. At the front, the vehicle is equipped with a lidar system and a waterfall-style grille, which draws inspiration from architectural foundations of palaces, as noted by Zeekr.
Moving to the rear, one cannot miss the impressive full-width taillight that incorporates a staggering 54,894 diamond-shaped facets, giving it a unique appearance.
Under the hood, this model is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine capable of producing a maximum output of 205 kW, equivalent to 275 horsepower. Much like its standard counterpart, the Zeekr 8X, this sporty version is expected to feature a state-of-the-art 900V architecture, a rapid 6C charging battery, and a robust three-motor megawatt electric drive system delivering an astounding 1,030 kW, or 1,381 horsepower. The top speed is expected to reach an impressive 230 km/h.
At this point, specific details regarding the powertrain specifications and driving range remain undisclosed. For context, the standard Zeekr 8X is equipped with a ternary lithium battery pack available in capacities of 55.1 kWh and 70 kWh, developed through a collaboration between CATL and Geely, which offers pure electric ranges of 256 km, 257 km, and up to 328 km under WLTC testing conditions.
Additionally, buyers will have the option to customize their vehicles with various configurations, including different rim designs, electric side steps, an infrared night vision camera, and a digital rearview mirror.
In terms of dimensions, the sporty Zeekr 8X measures 5108 mm in length, 2026 mm in width, and 1780 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3069 mm. It boasts a gross weight of 3,300 kg and a curb weight of 2,800 kg. For comparison, the standard version of the Zeekr 8X has slightly different dimensions at 5100 mm in length and 1998 mm in width, while sharing the same wheelbase.
